Welcome

Hike on Lancashire (Formerly Lancashire Young Persons Walking Group) organises walks, social activities and weekends away for people in their 30's, 40's anad 50s (although we don't have a strict age limit).

We go walking in the local area and beyond on Sundays throughout the year and also on weekday evenings in the summer.

We hope that our website provides you with all the information that you need. If not... use our contacts page and someone will get back to you.

We always welcome new members. Explore our walks page to choose your first walk. Visit our Facebook page to see photos of the group at work and play!

See you on a walk soon!

Our varied walks programme

We offer walks across Lancashire and beyond. Our walks vary in length and difficulty from short evening walks to more challenging hill walking. We aim to offer walks to suit everyone whatever your fitness level. Our weekends away allow us to explore interesting places further afield. To join us just select a walk and meet us at the start point. There's no need to book in advance.

Make new friends

Our members range from 30 to 50's. We always end our walks at a pub which is a great opportunity to get to know fellow members. Our social programme includes meals out, cinema and theatre nights.

Joining us

We ask that regular walkers join the Ramblers Association and affiliate  to our group (ML 50 Hike on Lancashire). For those who want to sample some walks before they join we ask for a donation of £2 to the Ramblers (a registered charity).

Get involved

The group is run entirely by volunteers. Members lead anything from a short stroll to a 20 mile hike. We have quarterly social input evenings where members come along and volunteer walks and socials for the up and coming group programme. You can also come along to share your thoughts and ideas about the group or just come and catch up with friends.
