Welcome to the Lancashire Young Persons Walking Group website!

Hello and welcome!!  The Lancashire Young Persons Walking Group (LYPWG) is a member of the Ramblers Association Hike 20’s/30’s walking group network.  The LYPWG is a voluntary organization which offers a variety of walks, socials and holidays for our members.

WALKING

SOCIALISING

Walking is our main focus but it doesn’t stop us letting our hair down from time to time!!  Our social calendar has a mixture of events from pub night outs and evening meals to weekends away and even holidays.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN LYPWG?

We welcome anyone who is either young or young at heart to walk with us.  If you think our group is for you then check out our new members page

For all general enquiries, please contact our chairman Chris Cooper (07968 598234)

We look forward to seeing you soon!!

**A note from the Chariman**

Hello,
Mark Billington is leaving his role as walks coordinator for the LYPWG. Mark has been doing the role for six years and the committee wishes to thank Marky for his dedication to the group and helping to get LYPWG off the ground. Mark will continue to walk and lead walks and I’m guessing will not be retiring his duties as chief drinks tester on our socials!
This news means the group is now looking for a new walks coordinator to hopefully be elected at our AGM on the 15th November. The role, like all the committee roles is voluntary and will require you to organise the walks diary throughout the calendar year. The new walks coordinator will work closely with the social secretary so we can hopefully organise walks and socials that complement each other.
If you are interested in the role then please contact me for more information.

It’s that time of year for the groups Annual AGM. This year, we our trying something new. A walk followed by our AGM meeting.
This years AGM will take place on Sunday 15th November in the village of Brinscall, near Chorley. For more information, please check our socials page. Remember, it’s YOUR group so get involved and come along.

We now have a weekly e-mail which we distribute to our paid up RA members. The weekly e-mails list gives you the most up to date information concerning news, walks and socials that are happening within the group. If you don't want to miss out and wish to be on our new mailing list then please e-mail Helen Smith at walk@helencsmith.com  with your following details; Full Name, e-mail address and your RA membership number. We have over 120 members but not all of you are on the mailing list so where have you been hiding?

Thanks,

Chris Cooper,
LYPWG Chair.
