As well as being the 'figurehead' for the Group, the
Chairman also has several responsibilities for helping ensure the Group's smooth
running, such as:
- Heading the Group's committee
- Co-ordinating committee meetings
- Organising the Group's AGM
- Attending Area Meetings on behalf of the Group
- Liasing with external bodies including the Ramblers' Central
Office
Dave has been with the Group for over two years now since moving up from Cambridgeshire, where he was also involved in his local Group. As well as his committee role, Dave likes to lead a walk from time to time, having led his first walk back in 2008 (or 2006 in Cambridgeshire). Other than walking with the Group, Dave also enjoys travel and weekends away throughout the UK, is learning to horse ride and enjoys various
sports.
